‘I choose a city where the health of residents outweighs the profits of polluting industry. As a candidate for the AAA, I am fighting for an Amsterdam that stops muddling through and truly chooses a liveable future.’
My Key Points for the City:
- ICL out of the city: ICL’s fertiliser factory in Amsterdam-Noord is a source of odour nuisance and harmful emissions. It is unacceptable that the health of residents in Noord and the housing plans for Haven-Stad are being held hostage by a company that refuses to relocate. ICL must leave the city.
- No band-aids for capital: We must stop accepting small “compensation” or symbolic amounts from large capitalist companies while they pollute our living environment. Don’t put band-aids on the problem, tackle the source.
- Space for young people and culture: I want large spaces in all districts to be used for residents’ initiatives, personal development, art and dialogue. The city belongs to us, not to property investors
International Solidarity & Peace:
- BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions): In line with our principles of justice, I support the BDS movement. Our city should not do business with entities that contribute to oppression.
- Against arms trade and militarism: I fight against the trade in arms and the production of chemical weapons. Our ports should no longer be used as a conduit for militarism; we do not facilitate war through Amsterdam logistics.
