My mission: A safe Amsterdam, even behind closed doors.
Amsterdam is the most violent city in the Netherlands. While the government is working on a law to make psychological violence a criminal offence, I say: enforcement alone is not enough. In a city where we live on top of each other and the pressure is high, psychological violence due to financial worries and isolation is a constant threat.

The current focus on the police and the Public Prosecution Service is a start, but a law will only succeed if the people of Amsterdam know where they stand. Victims of gaslighting or social isolation often do not dare to take the step of contacting the authorities. That is why I am fighting for large-scale education in schools, community centres and at GPs.

We must break down the barriers to seeking help and teach bystanders how to recognise the signs. My goal? To make Amsterdam a city where we not only combat incidents, but prevent violence through awareness and prevention.
